Head of Sales

Firefly Learning is an award-winning EdTech company used by hundreds of leading schools globally that brings teachers, students and parents together.

We are looking for an ambitious sales leader to help exceed our ambitious global growth goals after our recent £4.5m Series A investment round.

The successful candidate will lead our global sales team, covering both internal and external sales as well as sales support.

The role reports to one of the co-founders and will work closely with other members of our senior management team to set and execute company strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed agreed annual, quarterly and monthly sales targets
  • Provide accurate rolling sales forecasts to finance team and wider business
  • Contribute to development of achievable 12 month rolling sales targets
  • Develop and maintain strategy & 12 month rolling plan to achieve sales targets including cost & headcount, working closely with marketing
  • Develop, maintain and achieve quarterly objectives and key results for the sales team
  • Contribute to management team decision making on company strategy
  • Set the structure of the team, allocate territories and set incentives
  • Act as player/coach and attend meetings with team members
  • Continuously improve collective & individual performance by collecting accurate pipeline data, analysing and responding to forecasts, historical performance by segment and win/loss intelligence
  • Establish and roll out across the sales team a formal but flexible approach to opportunity management and account / territory planning
  • Train, coach and develop the sales team
  • Recruit and onboard new team members
  • Work closely with the client experience team to maximise sales from referrals
  • Work closely with the product team to build business cases to influence the product roadmap priorities
  • Work closely with the marketing team to continually refine messaging and ensure marketing activity is delivering quality leads
  • Ensure CRM & other key systems are up to date and effectively used to support the team’s activity and reporting requirements

Key Skills/Experience

  • Experience as the leader of multi-country sales for a fast-growing B2B Software as a Service (SaaS) business or related technology
  • Demonstrated success in attracting, recruiting and mentoring world class sales talent
  • Experience with pipeline management and forecasting
  • Proven ability to formulate and execute on a comprehensive sales plan
  • Proven strategic contributor to wider business planning
  • Excellent analytical and process skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
